Canine Stifle Distractor and Meniscal Cutter

Antonio Pozzi, DVM, (Zurich, Switzerland) demonstrates the Stifle Distractor for use in the canine stifle. The Stifle Distractor is able to distract both medial and lateral compartment while creating a tibial subluxation for better examination of the meniscus.

Also demonstrated is the Meniscal Cutter, which was developed in collaboration with Sean Murphy, DVM, DACVS, (Boise, ID). This product allows the surgeon to probe for a torn or injured meniscus during exploration of the stifle joint, then release the meniscus without having to remove the probe, making the meniscal release easier and more efficient.
